About Susan
Susan is a life-long horse person and equestrian. From an early age, horses became a prominent part of her upbringing. Appaloosas and quarter horses started her journey, with many other breeds touching her heart and expanding her knowledge of the variances in overall training, disciplines, and care that make each unique.
Riding and training in a multiple disciplines for many years, she values what each horse is capable of, whether as a companion horse, lesson horse or school master, pleasure horse or an avid competitor. Connecting with horses makes us better human beings.
Susan’s love of science yielded a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science – Pre-Veterinary from Auburn University, and she has earned her IAAMT certification in Equine Sports Massage Therapy. Susan also has a Masters of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University, with a career made in technology and software marketing.
Susan continues to educate herself regarding techniques, therapy methods and soaking up as much as possible from veterinarians and farriers to find the best ways to support her four-legged clients. Equine Sports Massage Therapy (ESMT) is never a replacement for veterinary care and is used in support of this care. It is important for ESMT’s to work as a team with these professionals in order to provide a comprehensive wellness program for your equine partner. There is never a one size fits all method, and she believes that a hands-on approach can provide the best opportunity to identify areas of concern.
